Deadpool tries to commit suicide with the help of some friends/enemies. Today I will be reviewing Deadpool #37. Please leave me a comment and let me know what you think.
So let’s talk about the book. Deadpool wants to die. The problem is his healing factor won’t let him. He asks Wolverine if there is a way and realizes that one option does exist. Getting a bunch of ammo and explosives, Deadpool attacks a creature that might be able to kill him, the Incredible Hulk. Starting with a nuke and moving on to swords, guns, and explosives, Deadpool throws everything but the kitchen sink at the Hulk. Hulk, however, doesn’t want to play Deadpool’s game but a final explosive to the face causes him to leap off after Deadpool in an intense rage. And that’s the book.
So let’s talk opinions. This issue was legen……wait for it…….dary! Freaking legendary. There was Deadpool action. Deadpool insanity. Deadpool humor. Great art. Big splashes. On top of it all, a pretty simple premise to get behind. Wade wants to die. Who better than the Hulk to make that happen. I love that he goes to Wolverine for help. That was funny. Speaking of funny, how hilarious was that image of Hulk with the swords up his nose and a mouth full of grenades? That was Wile E. Coyote funny. It was also funny that Hulk bitch slapped wade across the state with only two fingers. How about that awesome Hulk two page splash? Now that was a perfectly drawn angry giant monster. I love how Banner tried to rationalize Wade. Wade, for all his insanity, is pretty smart. He laid out a perfect plan to get exactly what he wants. I can’t wait till next issue to see what kind of damage Hulk inflicts on Deadpool. That’s my opinion folks. Take it or leave it.
