Generation Hope #2 Review

Tagged with: Generation Hope  X-MenGeneration Hope #2

Welcome to Akira, the comic book. Today I will be reviewing Generation Hope #2 . Please leave me a comment and let me know what you think.

So let’s talk about the book. So hope is faced with seeing the destruction of Tokyo until she realizes that its just an illusion. The dark light has taken over her mind. Using her powers of copying other mutant’s powers, hope manages to escape, but passes out from the strain. Idie then proceeds to cook Kenji. He flees to the river and is chased by Cyclops, Rogue and Wolverine. They engage in battle but Kenji transforms into a Godzilla like monster and heads towards the city. And that’s the book.

So let’s talk opinions. Other than Idie cooking Kenji and Gabriel speeding to save Hope, the kids saw absolutely no action this issue. I thought the book was supposed to be Generation Hope, not X-Men book 13. I want to see the five lights in action, and not only the villain. This is the future of all mutantkind and they need to man up and not be held back. If there is some understory that needs to be told, so far that is not evident. No sub plots at all. And no real revelation as to the connection between the five lights. (My money is still on some elemental level connection.) This issue was not as good as issue #1. It had less action, less story and for some reason, uglier art. That’s my opinion folks. Take it or leave it.
