Deadpool Pulp #3 Review

Tagged with: Deadpool  Deadpool PulpDeadpool Pulp #3

The intrigue, excitement and double crossing continue in this surprisingly good mini series. Today I will be reviewing Deadpool Pulp #3. Please leave a comment to let me know what you think.

So let’s talk about the book. Using some of his contacts, Deadpool hunts down the missing doctor. Meanwhile, Cable finds out that General Stryfe is actually the mastermind behind the plot to detonate the nuclear weapon. When he tries to stop him, Stryfe activates a mindwipe command to make Cable shut down. When Deadpool reaches the location of the doctor, he is attacked by local militia and shot. When he wakes up, he is greeting by familiar surroundings. He is tied up in the place where he was originally tortured all those years ago. And the man behind it all is Stryfe. And that’s the book.

So let’s talk opinions. Another excellent cover and great art greets you in this great issue. The crime thriller continues with new reveals, and a double cross that you should have seen coming. (It’s Stryfe for god’s sake. You knew he would be bad.) I like that Meyer Lansky was in the book. Adds more reality to the series and time period. I definitely did not see the twist at the end however. It was a pleasant surprise. I love the way this book is constantly moving the story along and keeping the tale well grounded in the time period. It’s kind of sad that it will be all over next issue. I would have liked it to continue for a few more. My only complaint is that the humor and usual Deadpool mindless violence was not present. (But you can’t have everything all of the time.)  That’s my opinion folks. Take it or leave it.

Can it be Deadpool without being funny? I think so, but it still has to be twisted.
