New Mutants #19 Review

Tagged with: Leonard Kirk  New MutantsNew Mutants #19

The New Mutants are beaten but not defeated. The final battle has just begun. Today I will be reviewing New Mutants #19. Please leave a comment to let me know what you think.

So let’s talk about the book. The Children of Limbo have some fun torturing the New Mutants. Karma, however, manages to enter the mind of one of the Children and turn him to her side. Meanwhile, General Ulyssys manages to activate the Bloodstone using Magic’s Soulsword and Pixie’s soul. As Illyana is taken to a cell, she reveals to Sunspot how Magma will die. As the General prepares to return to Limbo and attack the Demons there with his Bloodstone, Karma makes her move and manages to escape, freeing Illyana in the process. And that’s the book.

So let’s talk opinions. I’m glad that the New Mutants are still fighting like a team and looking out for each other, even when they are facing the end. Karma is one tough girl. Dani, however, is the superstar of this team to me. She is strong willed, resilient and one VERY tough woman. Commanding Sam to man up while being tortured to the extreme while having no powers at all makes her a superstar in my book. General Ulyssys is starting to look like a serious hypocrite.  The Children are starting to look like spoiled brats. At first you feel sorry for them but now you begin to see that they are as diseased as the man who raised them. Its not their fault but someone should have taught them right from wrong. Hopefully some will survive and be reprogrammed. I’m sad to hear that Magma will die but you can never really trust what Illyana is saying half the time anyway. The art is still great. I’m looking forward to next issue and what will probably be the finale of this arc. That’s my opinion folks. Take it or leave it.
