Its a solid conclusion to a battle-centric story that honestly wasn’t that solid (but as such complaints rely more upon previous issues, I will digress on this point). JT Krul has given us a very important character point to the every-man’s Hard Traveling Hero through this issue, and gave Ollie an important character realization that he really seemed to need given the events of the previous two storylines, even if it was just an extension of what the white lady told him in issue #7. I also appreciate Krul’s off hand references to previous comics, establishing continuity and realism to the characters that move on through their lives. It wasn’t big, but Ollie’s personal call back to using Hal’s ring in 2004′s Green Lantern: Rebirth, comparing it to how the white bow felt, I found to be a very solid personal reference. Such things are small, and often overlooked, but I have a deep care and appreciation for them.
Moving on to the artwork, again its fairly consistent, while Cifuentes and Neves continue their great work on the title, though one shot of the tree established itself as inconsistent with all previous images of the tree, with the white lantern symbol being much smaller and higher up than it ever had been before. A small complaint, for sure, but one that still stuck out in my mind. That said, when your only real complaint about the art in an issue is something as unimportant as this, you have to be appreciative of the work being done. That said, I also have to raise a curious eye to the choice of placing Team Arrow in the issue without any importance. While this may have been written in by Krul, himself, it still stood out as slightly odd. Black Canary, Speedy, Connor Hawke, and Arsenal are all shown as fighting against the forest. This is enticing to me, as I would like much more on the latter three be told, and especially with Arsenal working with them all again is something I think deserves explanation. I now he’s not really a bad guy (but more of an anti-hero), but given his current status, I have a hard time believing this as something thats not important. I think some exposition for that scene is required, but I’ve not seen any (please, if there has been some given in another issue of another series, let me know).
Now, it should be noted that while this is the conclusion issue, it doesn’t really end our story. The way the issue ends feels like a big event that will lead directly into the finale of Brightest Day, though since I have not been reading the main Brightest Day series, I couldn’t tell you for certain. Regardless, the tree’s blast doesn’t seem like something that will be fully explained in the next issue of this Green Arrow ongoing. That said, however, everything pertaining to our character seems there enough.
Bottom line, however, I’m glad this is over, and am looking forward to the title refocusing in on itself, and getting back to the character stories that Green Arrow has been known for since Grell’s run, so very long ago. Big crossover stories are not inherently bad, but I prefer my stories form a whole within themselves, so I’m looking forward to the non-Brightest Day Green Arrow that we are sure to be getting here soon.

Can we get Black Canary back in here?
