Suicide Girls #2 Review

Tagged with: IDW  Steve Niles  Suicide GirlsSuicide Girls #2

The girls go after the head of “Way of Life”. Today I will be reviewing Suicide Girls #2. Please leave a comment to let me know what you think.

So let’s talk about the book. A “Way of Life” cyborg party attack the girls in their headquarters. The girls manage to destroy them and even get some information from the cyborg’s head. They find out where the “Way of Life” leader will be and decide to attack the function and capture him so he will reveal the location of the missing Suicide Girls and Xenia. Everything starts off according to plan until some roadblocks start popping up. First, one third of the team is locked in the kitchens. Then, the leader manages to get away while being tailed. With their plan blown, the girls go into full on attack mode and start blowing things up. As the crew is reunited and are ready to escape, they are greeted by a pack of cyborgs with their weapons drawn. And that’s the book.

So let’s talk opinions. I’m really loving this mini series. Not from the story, which is pretty simple and straight forward, but from the incredible visuals. Every page was incredibly stunning. The women look amazing. The piercings and tattoos are awesomely detailed. Cassius’ sword hilt/back piercing is incredibly ingenious and amazing to look at. The action is fast and furious and also drawn very well. Facial expressions were clear and spot on accurate. To top it off, we get some really stunning portraits at the end of the issue which all qualify for framing. And the cover is beyond hot. Storywise, it’s easy and very fast paced. Sure there is a bunch of techno-babble that someone with my limited modern slang and computer speak wouldn’t understand. There are also a bunch of references to things that I am completely unaware of.  However, I assume that anyone who is a fan of the Suicide Girls website, everything in this issue would make perfect sense. I’m hoping that this amazing pace and visual awesomeness continues in the next issues. Also, I hope it keeps it’s soft core nudity as well. A great title for someone looking for something fresh and different. That’s my opinion folks. Take it or leave it.
