Daken solidifies his power as Madripoor falls to his rule. Today I will be reviewing Daken: Dark Wolverine #7. Please leave a comment to let me know what you think.
So let’s talk about the book. Daken takes full control of Madripoor. The police and all of the underworld’s wealth are his to command. Tyger Tyger will be his figurehead and the old mob leaders her lieutenants. Meanwhile, Daken has been having a science team experimenting on something. They have already recreated a healing factor. Before they can move on to their next phase, they need more test subjects. Too bad they are on a boat carrying X-23 and Gambit that has just docked in Madripoor. And that’s the book.
So let’s talk opinions. First off, I love the cover. A wonderful tribute to the Wolverine #1 cover from his very first regular series. That was the beginning of his Madripoor adventures so its a fitting image for this story arc. Daken is one very smart boy. He has plans within plans. I’m extremely curious who is under that cover. Maybe Sabretooth, back from the dead? Maybe he’s trying to lace himself with adamantium? I hope we get some more info soon. So the action was pretty light and the story was a bit slow but it was a nice ending to this story arc. Basically, Daken rules Madripoor in every way shape and form. The inner politics aspect of this story bores me and I’m really looking forward to next issue’s meeting with X-23. If those two go at it, it should be awesome. (I hope.) The art was good, once again, but very shadowy this issue. X-23 and Gambit did look really good though on the last page. I hope we get some revelations and maybe a decent nemesis for Daken over the next few arcs. That’s my opinion folks. Take it or leave it.
