Finally everything makes some sense. Today I will be reviewing Deadpool Max #6. Please leave a comment to let me know what you think.
So let’s talk about the book. Deadpool is tasked with stopping Domino, a high level terrorist and kidnapper of Blind Al, a government operative. Deadpool attacks Domino’s hideout and eliminates all of the henchmen there when Domino finally appears. Turns out she’s really Dr. Inez from issue #2 and is pregnant with Deadpool’s baby. She reveals to Deadpool how he was created and what his purpose is. When Bob arrives, Deadpool announces that he and Domino are married and that he quits. And that’s the book.
So let’s talk opinions. Just when I was out, they pull me back in. Finally, the story made some sort of sense. All of the insanity that we have been subjected to is cleared up and put to the page in a cohesive intelligent manner. We actually had moments of Max in this issue. There was good violence, well placed cursing and good use of nudity. The humor was still missing but I’ve accepted that this book will not be humor filled. There was actually lots of plot progression and character growth for Wade. The art, while still crappy as ever, was actually tolerable. Except for the fact that Domino looked like a transvestite, that is. And that Jabir looked like he jumped out of an Alladin movie. I’m actually interested in what happens next. If only the first five issues of this title were any good, Marvel might have left this as an ongoing series. Now, like I kept saying in my prior reviews, this limited series will soon be over. What a shame that this amazing opportunity was wasted. That’s my opinion folks. Take it or leave it.
